## In short

Hotel and ryokan photography in Tokyo costs $1,000 for 30 minutes and 15 edited photos, cropped for your website and booking platforms and delivered within 7 days. The shoot fits between check-out and check-in and covers your best-selling room and its view; more room types, public spaces and food are added with extra hours at $150 each. We invoice the property in US dollars with marketing use included.

A Tokyo hotel sells two things a guest cannot see from a listing thumbnail: how much space the room really has, and what the window looks out on. Both are photographic problems. Rooms in the city are compact, so they need careful lens choice to look honest rather than stretched, and the view — Tokyo Tower, the palace greenery, the bay — changes completely between noon and dusk. We plan the session around those two things and the room you sell most.

## How the shoot is planned

We arrive at check-out to walk the key room with your manager and fix the shot list. The base 30 minutes goes on that room once it is cleaned and styled: wide frames, then the bed, bath and window details that booking platforms use as secondary images. With extra hours we continue in order of revenue — further room types, the lobby and lounge while they are between guests, and food, plated by your kitchen in the restaurant’s own light. If the view is a selling point, we return for one twilight frame of the key room — that needs the room held back from sale that night and an extra hour.

## Timing

The working window is usually 11 am to 3 pm on a weekday with low occupancy; tell us your quieter days and we schedule around them. For the window view, November to February gives the clearest air and the best chance of Mt Fuji from high floors in the morning; summer haze flattens it. Seasonal décor and menus change, so many properties book one main shoot and a shorter seasonal return.

## Frequently asked questions

### What rights do we get, and can we give the photos to booking platforms?

Yes. The licence covers the property’s own website, booking platforms, social channels, brochures and press. Use by a parent brand’s other properties or a paid campaign is licensed separately. Guests and staff appear only with their consent, and we keep a record of it.

### How is the shoot invoiced and scheduled?

We invoice the operating company in US dollars once the date is fixed, payable by bank transfer. Scheduling needs your quieter weekdays and a named contact on the day. Delivery is within 7 days; express delivery of a first set for an urgent listing is $80.

### Can you shoot aerials of the building?

In central Tokyo, almost never: the 23 wards are a densely inhabited district and flying needs MLIT approval plus clearance from neighbouring owners. For a property on the city’s edge with its own grounds, our property drone service ($730) is possible with the owner’s consent and about ten business days’ notice.
