## Hearing the question

A proposal film needs sound as much as picture. We fit a small wireless microphone to the person proposing before the partner arrives, so the question and the answer are recorded clearly over wind and crowds. Cameras are set at a distance and look like those of any other visitor until the moment comes.

The place has to allow it. Famous viewpoints such as Kiyomizu-dera’s stage or the Shibuya crossing are too crowded for a quiet moment after about 9:00, and many shrines and temples do not permit staged events at all. Hotel terraces, a ryokan garden booked privately, the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi at sunrise or Arashiyama before 8:00 work better, and we confirm the venue’s rules when booking.

A common choice is to combine the film with the proposal photographer, so one person films and another photographs. In rain we move to a covered spot agreed in advance rather than cancelling.

You receive a 30 to 60 second film of the moment within 5 days, edited with licensed music.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can we have photos and video?

Yes: book the proposal photographer as well and two of us come, one with each camera. A single person cannot film and photograph the same few seconds well.

### Will the microphone give it away?

No: it clips inside a collar or jacket and the transmitter sits in a pocket; we fit it at the meeting point before you walk on together. In wind, such as on a Fuji lakeshore, it is the only way the words survive.
