The route
We meet at Kintetsu Nara Station and walk east through the park while it is still quiet. On the Tobihino lawns we choose a patch of grass with a few grazing deer and the morning sun behind the trees, and you sit down before any cracker appears; one or two are used at the end of the frame to bring a deer’s head up. The closer couple frames happen here, out in the open park. With an extra hour, we cross from the lawn into the Kasuga approach, where the stone lanterns line both sides under the cedars and the canopy keeps the light soft. You walk the path together, stop between lanterns, and the session ends near the shrine’s outer gate without going inside the paid precinct.
