Guests and buyers want to see what surrounds a property: the sea in front of an Okinawa resort, the forest around a Hakone ryokan, the distance from a Niseko chalet to the lifts. Thirty minutes covers the building from several heights and angles and a slow reveal for the film, flown at the hour the light suits the site’s orientation; the approach road and the wider grounds are added with extra hours at $150 each.
Most hotels in central Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka sit inside densely inhabited districts and close to neighbouring buildings, so flights there need MLIT approval and often a neighbour’s consent; some sites will not be approved at all. Resorts on the coast or in the countryside are simpler. We check the location against the DID map before quoting, so you know early whether an aerial is possible.
The DIPS 2.0 application needs about ten business days, and we prepare it with your written consent as landowner. Guests on balconies or by the pool count as third parties, so the flight is timed for a quiet hour and guests are told in advance.
You receive 15 aerial photos and a 45-second film within 10 days, licensed for the property’s website, booking platforms and sales material.

Frequently asked questions: Property & resort drone
Our hotel is in a city. Can you still fly?
Often, with approval and planning. A city site is usually in a DID, so the flight needs MLIT approval and a route that stays over your land or keeps 30 m from neighbouring buildings and people. Some sites — near an airport, or a facility under the Small Unmanned Aircraft Prohibition Act — cannot be flown at all; we check before quoting.
What do you need from us?
A site plan, written consent from the landowner if that is not you, and a window when the pool, gardens and terraces are free of guests — flying over people not involved in the shoot needs separate approval. Early morning usually works best.
