Why here
An Okinawa villa sells on its distance to the water and the colour of that water, and only an aerial shows both. Most resort property on the Onna and Motobu coasts is flyable, but every site is checked first against the US-base and airport maps, and the beach in front is usually public, so its guests and swimmers are third parties the flight has to avoid.
How the shoot is planned
The base 30 minutes is one window. At first light, before guests are up, we fly the grounds: pool, villas, gardens and the path to the sand, from low angles to a high overview. With an extra hour we return in the late morning, when the sun is high enough for the turquoise, for a second set of flights out over the water, looking back at the property with the reef in the foreground — over open sea, not over the people on the beach.
April to June and October to November give the clearest water and the most stable weather. From July to October, a typhoon can push the shoot back by days, and salt spray and wind are harder on the flight; we agree a back-up date when booking. If you are marketing a summer season, shoot it the autumn or spring before so the material is ready when bookings open.

It depends on the distance. The Small Unmanned Aircraft Prohibition Act covers designated facilities such as Kadena, Futenma and Camp Schwab plus about 300 m around them, and that cannot be waived for marketing. Send us the address and we check the map before quoting.
Yes, in the frame, but beaches in Japan are generally public, so people on them are third parties. We fly early when it is empty, or keep to angles over the water, and do not fly over swimmers.
