The route
The base thirty minutes is Nishi-Shinjuku in daylight. We start with headshots in open shade under a tower canopy, then half-length frames on the stepped plazas with the Metropolitan Government Building behind you, and walking shots on the elevated walkways between towers. A hotel lobby can be added if you are a guest and the hotel agrees. With an extra hour for the second look, the change happens at your hotel or a station facility, then a 15-minute walk or one Marunouchi-line stop takes us east. That part is looser: the shuttered lanes of Golden Gai before the bars open, the stone approach near Hanazono Shrine where its rules allow, and the street life of Shinjuku Sanchome for candid frames.
