The route
We meet at the road bridge beside Shinkyo, where the vermilion span sits over the Daiya River with forest behind — the classic frame, free and queue-free. Then up the stone path into the shrine precinct: the tall cedars on the approach for walking shots, the rows of stone lanterns for a quieter portrait. We stay outside the paid area’s halls. With an extra hour, the walk goes on along the riverside path to Kanmangafuchi, about 20 minutes on foot, where moss and the lines of red-capped Jizo give the softest frames and room for closer poses.
